I read an interesting article in New York Magazine about Edward Tufte. The NY Times describes him as the "Leonardo Da Vinci of data."Wikipedia describes him as "an expert in the presentation of informational graphics" and among other achievements, he is known for pretty much ripping PowerPoint a new a-hole.
Um, certainly he does so with more eloquence than my vulgar brain can muster at this hour.
I'm not entirely sure what to make of it all but he appears to do a better job than anyone else of merging the seemingly disparate fields of statistics and design.
